This salve is my newest favorite, as it is SO lovely smelling. I harvested spring spruce tips when they were minty-fresh, combined them with Usnea and spruce sap, and steeped overnight in organic coconut oil. I then added this to grass-fed tallow, organic beeswax, and a few drops of essential oil to create a most amazing balm. I have two varieties of this balm - both whipped, in tins, and non-whipped, in glass jars. I have used this balm on burns and small cuts, and also on dry hands. All genders have been loving this scent! I guarantee you will LOVE this one!
*Note: limited supply, seasonal item!
*Spruce tips and the the resin (pitch) extracted from the tree, have demonstrated antimicrobial and antiseptic properties against various bacteria and fungi, including some antibiotic-resistant strains. This makes them potentially useful in addressing minor cuts, scrapes, and skin infections like athlete's foot.
*Usnea is known for its potential antimicrobial activity, due to the presence of usnic acid, and has been traditionally used in various cultures for medicinal purposes, particularly for respiratory and skin issues
